Wagner, Richard - Five Poems
Genre: Songs
Richard Wagner (1813–1883) was a German composer known for his complex operas and "total work of art" philosophy. While living in Zurich, he had an intense, platonic affair with Mathilde Wesendonck, who wrote the lyrics for his Fünf Gedichte (Five Poems), also known as the Wesendonck Lieder. Composed in 1857–1858, these songs served as musical "studies" for his masterpiece, Tristan und Isolde.
