Holland, Johann David - Another’s Wealth Serves No One

On July 7, 2009, the premiere of the opera performance “Чужое багацьце нікому ня служыць” (“Another’s Wealth Serves No One”) took place on the stage of the National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theatre of the Republic of Belarus.
The music of the opera was composed by Jan Dawid Holland (1746–1827), a composer of the late eighteenth century and court Kapellmeister of Prince Karol Stanisław Radziwiłł. The libretto is by an unknown author.
The modern stage version is based on a reconstruction of the play by Sergei Kavalov, created with the participation of Zmicier Sanko, with a stage edition by Viktor Skorobogatov.
